Manager Name
IHG were founding members of the International Tourism Partnership. Being one of the world’s leading hotel companies comes with its responsibilities and I congratulate IHG for the progress made across its corporate responsibility programmes. It’s impressive to see the speed with which the IHG Green Engage™ system is being rolled out across the entire estate.

Stephen Farrant, Director, International Tourism Partnership

Intercontinental Hotel Group and Responsible Business

The actions we take and the opportunities we create are felt through IHG’s culture, hotels and communities each and every day. IHG prides itself on a respectful and diverse culture, which is central to delivering their purpose of providing True Hospitality for everyone. IHG are committed to creating safe, inclusive environments for their guests, colleagues, partners and local communities and are taking active steps to help their hotels measure and minimise their impact on the environment.

As a founding member of ITP, IHG are proud of our long standing partnership and, over the years, have worked with industry peers to develop measurement initiatives for carbon and water, and policies and guidance for hotels on human trafficking. In 2017, they collaborated with ITP members to develop and launch the ITP’s 2030 Goals for Sustainable Development, helping the industry make a positive contribution to the UN’s SDGs and to the COP 21 climate agreements. Most recently they helped develop a new set of Principles on Forced Labour.

The hospitality industry accounts for one in 10 jobs globally and IHG are passionate about the opportunities it can offer people. The IHG Academy partners with the Youth Career Initiative to offer vulnerable young people work experience in the hospitality industry, helping them find a viable way into work.
